Arizona trip a blast for 12s

The IBC 12U Purple team’s 2020 season got off to a sunny start with their long-awaited Arizona trip in March.

Escaping the dreary rain of Issaquah was a welcome departure for the boys, who experienced serious competition against tough, season-tested California teams in all four games while enjoying the desert lifestyle at The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch and in various off-the-field activities around the Valley of the Sun.

The team attended a Mariners Spring Training victory over the Dodgers at Camelback Ranch, they showed off their swings with drivers and 3-woods over a Saturday-night driving range party at Topgolf’s Talking Stick venue, they dined at various local gourmet establishments (In-N-Out Burger … and more In-N-Out Burger) and they spent a lot of time playing “hotel tag” and kicking back at the pool.

“It was a great way to cap off a successful five years of IBC,” 12U Purple manager Dan Neel said. “It was a chance for the players and their families to bond and make memories that will hopefully last a lifetime.”
