Memorial Day wrap-up

For the second consecutive year, Issaquah Baseball Club traveled to Vancouver, Wash., for Memorial Day weekend festivities … and some intense tournament competition.

IBC sent four teams to the 2019 Memorial Day Classic and performed very well against some of the top teams in the Pacific Northwest.

The 12U and 11U Purple teams both finished third in their Majors brackets, with 10U Purple finishing fourth and 10U Gold getting valuable tournament experience in their first year together.

In addition to the action on the field, the boys and families enjoyed this always-memorable bonding experience. As is now annual tradition, the Hampton Inn and Suites Portland/Vancouver swimming pool and nearby Big Al’s arcade got rigorous workouts from all the teams, who were more than eager to unwind after playing their games.

“That’s what these experiences are all about,” IBC President Jared Carvalho said. “The boys and families will remember the times hanging out with their friends, the team dinners, the arcade games, and the swimming and goofing around and joking far more than any final scores of the games they played.

“Traveling for Memorial Day is a huge part of our program and something we look forward to every year.”
